Relax! It's Your Birthday!

My week was fairly relaxing. I started a new show (I am not telling you which one because I do not want to get judged based on the level of corny-ness), and I think we have finally settled in our home and officially have a routine now. Whoop Whoop!

Josh has decided to let the new kitty in our room at night. We leave the door open so he can get out, but I am pretty sure he would rather claw the poop out of me instead of running around the house. I have been EXHAUSTED the last few days because of this cat, and I swear it is just me. Constantly playing with my face, clawing my back, sleeping (while purring super loud) on my chin... my nights are never ending. Needless to say, last night was my LAST night with him in the room. I love him to death, but seriously, I need some sleep!

Saturday and Sunday were much needed relaxing days. I watched my show, Josh grilled some burgers.. even Dexter and Mr. Pinkus were relaxed and loving it.
This is his tired face
Mmmm... Lookin' good! (and not just the burgers.. hehehe)

Josh and I also went to the local flea market. This was quite the adventure... There were some awesome fruit stands, and some great looking authentic Mexican restaurants, but the inside...
Josh and I plan on going back, but we probably wont go back inside. It was smelly.. horrid actually.. the ceiling was leaking.. dark.. just gross. But I guess that is what the flea market is all about, the "experience". Let me tell you... we definitely had an experience!

The fruit looked amazing! Next time we will bring cash.
So to go along with our sweet relaxing weekend, we also celebrated my best friend's birthday. Courtney was my matron of honor when Josh and I got married. We were friends, but it wasn't till then that we REALLY clicked. She did SO much for me then, and she continues to bless my life tremendously now. After Josh and I moved from Chattanooga to Knoxville to plant this church, we brought them up to visit. Long story short, they packed their bags and moved to Knoxville too. Now I am in a new city but I still have my best friend by my side.

Friday night we went to her favorite Mexican restaurant. They did the traditional sombrero, birthday song, and dessert. But... the waiters took the dessert and shoved it in her face! I have never seen a restaurant do that!! It was pretty much amazing and I happened to get the best vine ever...

Aww yeahhh
Then on Monday (her actual birthday), we got Starbucks and pedicures. I have only had one pedicure my whole life and let me tell you... I need to do this more often. Oh it was so relaxing and perfect!
I felt really bad for this guy... I haven't shaved my legs in FOREVER. Oops.
Look how pretty she is! And how pretty our toes are!! Mmm those sandals are attractive too, you better believe we wore those all through band practice.
My week was fabulous, but now that we are finally in a routine... It is back to the gym I go. I am starting today after work- So if I don't post next week, it's because I am probably dead.

XOXO

Babies...

Oh boy Oh boy Oh boy!! What a GREAT week!

My eyes have really been opened on just how sweet and precious life really is. It is amazing to take a step back and really look at God's creation. God is in the midst of the craziness; the busy hectic life that we live. Don't forget to step back and thank God for all that He has given you- find peace in Him.

This week (Friday) my cousin had a baby girl!! Sweet, precious, BEAUTIFUL Remy Bloom Fowler.
She is amazing and my cousin Amanda was a trooper!

THOSE EYEBROWS!
Big brother, Jett, loves her. What a sweet picture!

Love this sweet girl! So tiny! But please, make this baby fever GO AWAY! Can someone slap it out of me please?? - Thanks.

I spent Saturday night in Chattanooga with my family to visit the baby... but I didn't expect to come home with my own!! (well... sort of)
My Aunt found this sweet little guy hanging around her trashcan a few weeks ago. They couldn't find a home for him, so I stepped up to the plate. Knowing Josh would DIE if I brought him home, (in a good way.. that man has been begging for a kitten for the past YEAR) I didn't even have to ask him.
I did though. Just to be sure.
Meet Mr. No Name.
If anyone has ANY ideas what to name this sweet face, please help!!
Although he doesn't know what to think about Dexter yet, he has made himself at home!
Just helping Josh work

He is the sweetest thing. Loves to sleep.... Seriously, I am pretty sure he was passed out on my lap for HOURS. Again, if you have any name ideas, please share!!

Oh, by the way... I got new glasses this week. It has been two years... GAHHHHH! I am so happy!
Heeeyyyyy

While I was at my aunt's house, she shared this picture that she found. This is my gorgeous mother and I... She passed away when I was 8, and we are still finding pictures today. She was beautiful. People always thought she was a model! I love finding pictures of her and seeing how happy she was. She was fun, random, and spontaneous. A light. Not only was she beautiful, but she had the sweetest heart. I love you mom.
My hair... Good grief.

Again, God has seriously opened my eyes this week. I am so thankful for all that He has provided for me. His creation is beautiful and perfect.
..."I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." -John 8:12

I hope you have a great week!

Weekend Warriors

I don't think I could have asked for a better weekend. It was perfect. 85 degrees and sunny.
We spent time at the pool , played corn-hole, grilled out, badminton, drive in movie, and tons more. It was so busy, yet so refreshing and relaxing.

I didn't get pictures from our Memorial Day festivities.. mostly because I was busy having fun, but here is my weekend in a blur.

Hung out with this guy. I try to run around with Dexter as much as I can, but lately he has been a turd. He has started this new thing where as soon as he gets bored, he wants to go meet the neighbors. What a great introduction to my new neighbors: Hi, I'm the one who just moved in, let me get my giant dog out of your face....

Then I thew some pool time in my weekend. Nothing better then relaxing by the pool with your best friend..... and Starbucks. Mmmmmm.

Then, after relaxing by the pool, Saturday night we went to a Drive In Movie. OH MY GOODNESS THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN! We took an air mattress and shoved it in the back of Dan's truck. Originally, Courtney and I were going to lay on that while the boys sat in chairs, but this was just TOO comfortable. So we managed to all squeeze back there together. Oh the movie... Fast and Furious 6 (I think?) ... Eh, but that wasn't the point.

Monday morning I made pancakes from scratch... I have never done this before, but it wasn't a complete disaster. They actually weren't bad at all!! AND I had all the ingredients in my house already, so that was a plus! .... but I did manage to FILL the house with smoke. One burnt pancake = a smoky house for the rest of the afternoon.

Again, I did not get pictures of the awesome burgers we grilled, or badminton, or corn-hole. I suck...
But I promise, it was SO much fun. I really did have a perfect weekend.

I also finished coloring my hair! What do you think?

XOXO

Chicago Trip

Last weekend Josh and I took a trip to Chicago! We woke up at 3am and took a rental car all the way there. A 9 hour drive and 4 toll booths later... we FINALLY made it.

Because Josh is a Worship Leader for Harvest Bible Chapel, we had the opportunity to go to Chicago and help record the new Vertical Church CD.
Now before you get too excited, there were about 100 other people there too...not including the 2500 other people in the crowd!! We were in what they called the "Worship Pit". Basically, we were packed in liked sardines and got to jump around and worship like crazy. It was awesome. I can't wait to get the CD and DVD and try to pick myself out ;)

And of course, before we left we went downtown. I got some great pictures... but first, let me tell you why I will probably never go downtown ever again.
1. Parking. It was 25 dollars to park!! 25!!! No way.... Just no.
2. .... Well that was basically it. Just the parking.

It was suppose to be 75 degrees that day... and I swear it was 30 below. So I was out in jeans and a tank top, expecting to prance around by the lake and eat ice cream. Nope. We got hot coffee and as soon as that was gone we were RUNNING back to the car (which had to be a couple miles away). But... Despite the crazy cold wind and paying so much to park, we are so glad we went and got to experience the Navy Pier.

I hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
